Setting and Corner Triangle Calculations for On-Point Quilts 

Setting Triangle Calculation

Finished block size ______ + Sash width ______ = Total finished size _______

1. Total finished size x 1.414 = finished length of triangle's longest side
2. Finished length + 1.25 = unfinished block size
3. Round up to nearest 1/8" = cut square size

Corner Triangle Calculation

Sash width x 2 ______ + Finished block size ______ = Total finished size _______

1. Total finished size / 1.414 = finished length of triangle's longest side
2. Finished length + 0.875 = unfinished block size
3. Round up to nearest 1/8" = cut square size

Paperless Paper Piecing

These instructions can be used for any paperless paper piecing that you are doing.

We use the Add An Eighth (green) ruler to trim the seam allowances because the finished block size is 6" or smaller.

We use the Add A Quarter (yellow) ruler for larger blocks.
